everyone was cool, all my friends played the game

we went looking for some trouble, now who you gonna blame

young and we were restless,we walked into the fire

with the devil on our trail, we went walkin on that wire

we fell so far down together, we thought we would live forever

cry for our sisters and our brothers

cry for the lost and alone

cry for our sons and our daughters

who walked into the darkness - and never came home

china white will kill you, it'll never stop the pain

there's a storm rollin in, like a runaway train

monkeys in the man and the tide will pull him under

dark riders in the sky and they're rollin in like thunder

you never get outta here alive, you lost all your will to survive

cry for our sisters and our brothers

cry for the lost and alone

cry for our sons and our daughters

who walked into the darkness - and never came home

its too late to stop, keep coming back for more

always waiting on the man, looking for that score

these streets are a graveyard, beneath the neon lights

a spoonful for your soul, a little sugar in the night

we fell so far down together,we thought we could live forever

cry for our sisters and our brothers

cry for the lost and alone

cry for our sons and our daughters

who walked into the darkness - and never came home  (x2)

......  they never came home

........ the devils on their trail

If you know my baby you will will understand

the light in her eyes sparkles like moonglow

sweet flowers blossom everytime she smiles

I will follow that girl wherever she goes

she's the girl in the garden, she's the fruit off the vine

she's the girl in the garden, she's a love of mine

she wears the colours of the autumn leaves

the yellows the reds the gold and the brown

she holds the seasons in her healing hands

and she comes to me when the leaves all fall down

she's the girl in the garden, she's the fruit off the vine

she's the girl in the garden, she's a love of mine

on sacred ground she can be found

in a secret place beneath the trees

the birds are singing a sweet morning song

and its soft and its gentle, as the april breeze

she's the girl in the garden, she's the fruit off the vine

she's the girl in the garden, just like cherry wine

she's the girl in the garden, she's the fruit off the vine

she's the girl in the garden - she's a love of mine

She paints her picture in blues and in greens

She paints away her troubles in a splash of dreams

With shadows and light

She'll paint stars in the night

Picture a postcard of red coral trees

Of sailing boats on veridian seas

And through this sweet madness

Her brush moves on the canvas

Oh sweet release

Come to me now and hold me tight

Oh sweet release

Bring down some peace on this child tonight

She talks in colours, her stories are bold

All her world is shining in silver and in gold

And she waits on her muse

And she lights up the fuse

Oh sweet release

Come to me now and hold me tight

Oh sweet release

Bring down some peace on this child – this child tonight

Buddha hangs in the gallery

Shining green and blue

Sparks fly from his body

He smiles down on me

He's smiling down on you

I wish I could see things the way that you do

Michelangelo could see the angels too

They were flying on the ceiling

They were flying on the ceiling

Oh sweet release

Come to me now and hold me tight

Oh such sweet release

Bring down some peace on this child – this child tonight

Bring down some peace tonight

Bring down some peace

Bring down some peace tonight

Bring down some peace tonight

Leroy in the kitchen

Talking about a revolution

His mouth in gear

and his mind in pollution

Basil off to Byron

running out of gas

One arm on the wheel

The other full of cash

Let it go

Let it go

Sit down and watch the river flow

Let all your troubles go

Mercenary mayhem

Father Christmas with a razor

Do you feel lucky

Or just another loser

No end to this chaos

No method in this madness

Certain of uncertainty

Sick and tired of sadness

Let it go

Let it go

Sit down and watch the river flow

Let all your troubles go.

Mary in the morning

talking into sunrise

lying in her bedroom

trying to make me realise

She wants to flow like water

running with the tide

Cool and clear as crystal snow

peace of mind on her side.

Let it go

Let it go

Sit down and watch the river flow

Let all your troubles go.

Far across these hills

where the gentle rain falls

shadows  are dancing

down dark empty halls

Ghost gum trees climb

into the starry sky

Feel the wind whisper

A soft lullaby

In the yellow and green

In the soft morning mist

Our love was sealed in the stars

The night we first kissed

When the birds fly high on the wing

It won't be long

I'll be coming home to you soon

with a river song

My aim is the mystery

The travellers win

I'm caught in the silver web

the night winds spin

And she believes  too

She makes me complete

She touches me deep in my soul

with every heart beat

Repeat Chorus

Turn your eyes to the sun

It burns just like gold

Flame of a billion years

so ancient so old

Repeat Chorus
