She paints her picture in blues and in greens
She paints away her troubles in a splash of dreams
With shadows and light
She'll paint stars in the night
Picture a postcard of red coral trees
Of sailing boats on veridian seas
And through this sweet madness
Her brush moves on the canvas
Oh sweet release
Come to me now and hold me tight
Oh sweet release
Bring down some peace on this child tonight
She talks in colours, her stories are bold
All her world is shining in silver and in gold
And she waits on her muse
And she lights up the fuse
Oh sweet release
Come to me now and hold me tight
Oh sweet release
Bring down some peace on this child – this child tonight
Buddha hangs in the gallery
Shining green and blue
Sparks fly from his body
He smiles down on me
He's smiling down on you
I wish I could see things the way that you do
Michelangelo could see the angels too
They were flying on the ceiling
They were flying on the ceiling
Oh sweet release
Come to me now and hold me tight
Oh such sweet release
Bring down some peace on this child – this child tonight
Bring down some peace tonight
Bring down some peace
Bring down some peace tonight
Bring down some peace tonight
